The rock is roughly 30 kilometres north of Beacon and is accessed by a partly unsealed road.

The rock is part of Karoun Hill reserve that contains relatively untouched areas of native flora.

There are campsites located next to the rock and a toilet is available as well as seats and tables.

The best time to visit is during early wildflower season (August-September).

Dogs are permitted on the site BUT it should be remembered that 1080 poision baiting takes place nearby so always keep your dog on a lead.
