Description

Binningup is a small settlement on the coast, just north of Australind. There are very few attractions other than the beach, and unless you just want to ‘veg’ out and fish, there isn’t a lot to do.

Originally the site of a coast watch base during World War Two, it was so attractive that it was developed as a holiday destination once the war ended.

Although the town site was gazetted in 1963 its current origins date back a further 10 years when the area was first proposed as a sub-division. By 1962 there was still only one resident in the area but further development was not long in coming.

Today, Binningup is one of the fastest growing towns on this part of the coast.
