Boondi Rock is a couple of kilometres north of the Great Eastern Highway about half way between Southern Cross and Coolgardie.

The campsite is administered by National Parks and dogs are not allowed.

The road to Boondi Rock from the highway is unsealed but suitable for almost all vehicles.

Facilities at the rock include toilets, fire pits, seats and tables and with the dam and a rock to explore, it is one of the best campsites on this stretch of highway.

There is plenty of room and the campsite is suitable for everything from tents to big rigs.

The rock was used as a catchment area for the dam and the dam was developed to supply water to steam trains. There are many such dams along the old rail routes in Western Australia.

It is a free campsite and bookings are not required.
