Access to Mount Dale is via the Brookton Highway, Ashendon Road and then right into Dale Road.

The park was gazetted in 1995 and covers 8,000 Ha.

The site was originally used for a fire lookout tower but now there is a picnic area and lookout. The lower recreation area is used as a drop off or pick up point for walkers on the Bibbulmun Track which runs nearby.

On the north side of Mount Dale is an animal viewing hide.

The Mount Dale Circuit walk trail is a 2.5 km loop and takes 1-2 hours to complete. The walk is best done in spring when the wildflowers are at their best. The trail level of difficulty is rated as moderate.
