Lowlands Beach is located 35 kilometres west of Albany and can be accessed from Lower Denmark Road and Tennessee Road South.

There are two coves. The smaller is easily accessible by 2wd vehicles and there is a parking area, lookout and a path down to the beach where you will find a shade cloth shelter. The shelter is generally removed during winter as the beach can be swept by large waves.

The second cove can only be accessed by 4wd vehicles and is around the headland to the west.

A small freshwater stream trickles down across the beach and in to the ocean.

Swimming, surfing, walking, hang gliding and fishing are all popular activities here but remember, this area is fairly remote and if you get into trouble, help will take time to arrive. Always take great care when swimming and fishing. People have been washed off the rocks here while fishing and rips are known to exist in the water.

There is a walk trail from Lowlands Beach to Knapp Head. It is a 12.4 kilometre loop trail and is rated easy to moderate.
