Thomas Wilson climbed the peak during an expedition in 1829. From the summit he saw other peaks that he named Mount Roe, Mount Mitchell and Mount Frankland.

This park is part of the Walpole Wilderness Area and was established in 2004. Main access to the park is from the town of Denmark.

A hiking trail to the top of Mount Lindesay takes about 4 hours to complete and is 10 kilometres long.

While spring is the best time to see wildflowers anywhere in the state, the area around Mt. Lindesay produces some wildflowers year-round.

** Note: The title 'mountain' or 'mount' given to various features in Western Australia can be a bit misleading. No hill or mount in W.A. is higher than 1251 metres so expecting mountains such as those encountered in Europe or Asia may lead to some disappointment.
