42 Km east of Carnarvon along the Gascoyne Junction road, and then 4km north along a side track (well sign posted), you will find a most attractive billabong on the Gascoyne River.

All but the first two, and last 4 kilometres are now good sealed road. Rocky Pool is well worth the drive and is about an hour and a half return from Carnarvon.

There are no facilities and sadly camping is no longer permitted.

The area is subject to flooding in the wet season.

The pool attracts bird life from around the area. Dawn and dusk are good times to see the various species of bird coming down to drink.
