Nanga was once a working sheep station but now it is a popular holiday resort located 50km south of Denham at Shark Bay. It is an excellent base for a fishing holiday. The fishing in this area is closer to the shore than at Denham but still requires a decent sized boat to reach. White Island is a popular spot.

Nanga means 'water' in the Aboriginal dialect.

The resort has a restaurant, motel rooms, villas, 80 powered sites for caravans, 30 un-powered sites, and campsites with camp kitchens. The beach offers safe swimming or there is an in-ground pool and hot artesian spa.
