DESCRIPTION

Latham is located between Perenjori and Wubin in the mid-west regiona of Western Australia.

The name originates with an early pastoralist in the area and was originally given to a nearby rock formation.

Originally a station on the Wongan Hills to Mullewa line that opened in 1915.

The predominant agriculture in the area is grain production and a bulk handling facility opened in 1936.

The Perenjori shire provides an overnight caravan facility at the local community centre. Facilities available include toilets and showers. Donations for overnight stays are much appreciated and can be made to the shire of Perenjori via Bankwest, BSB: 306024, Acc No: 5375008.

At the northern end of town is a wildflower walk where a number of different orchid species can be found. It is best to look for orchids before the end of August.
